Since she was very little, my daughter has only known one story from me about her origin: She flew to Earth from a star. All people, like her, come from their own stars. Upon descending to Earth, they settle into a body, and when it wears out, they return to the star. There, they can decide when they will visit Earth again. And very often, when I carried my daughter in my arms in the evening, she would carefully study the starry sky and ask which star in the sky was hers. I always pointed to the brightest one – Sirius. She liked that her star was the brightest.
